MOAA Designated Scholar Scholarship provides financial assistance for undergraduate education to dependent children of former, active, or retired officers or active or retired enlisted military personnel.

Requirements

This program is open to children of active, Reserve, National Guard, and retired uniformed service personnel (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration).

Applicants must be under 24 years of age and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Parents who are officers eligible for membership in the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) must be members.

Children of enlisted personnel are also eligible to apply.

Applicants for MOAA Educational Assistance Program loans are automatically considered for these scholarships; no separate application is necessary.

Selection is based on scholastic ability (33%)), extracurricular activities (33%), and financial need (33%).

No grants are made for graduate study.
