Nome Eskimo Community Vocational Training Scholarship provides financial assistance to Alaska Natives and American Indians who reside in the service area of the Nome Eskimo Community and are interested in obtaining vocational training at a school in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to 1) members of an Alaska Native or American Indian tribe or organization affiliated with the Nome Eskimo Community who reside in the Bering Straits region; and 2) Alaska Natives and American Indians enrolled with a federally-recognized tribe outside of the Bering Straits region but who live in the Nome community.
  • Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll fulltime in a vocational training program in any state to work on a certificate or diploma for an occupation for which there is a need in the labor market.
  • They must be unemployed or underemployed or possess limited or no job skills.
  • Financial need is considered in the selection process.
