Requirements
  • This program is open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and nationals who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment at an accredited school of nursing in a diploma, associate, baccalaureate, or graduate program.
  • Licensed practical nurse programs are not eligible.
  • Applicants must agree to fulfill a service commitment of at least 2 years at a health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses, including an Indian Health Service health center, Native Hawaiian health center, public hospital, federallyqualified health center, rural health clinic, nursing home, home health agency, hospice program, state or local public health department, skilled nursing facility, or ambulatory surgical center.
  • Preference is given to fulltime undergraduate students who demonstrate the greatest financial need and to full-time master's degree nurse practitioner students.
