The Shannon Burwash Award for Encouragement in Equine & Agricultural Studies Scholarship is open to students entering their first or second year at a postsecondary institution in Canada. Students seeking a degree in fields of study with potential application to horses or the horse industry are encouraged to apply. Those with a rural background and/or extensive participation in the horse industry receive special consideration.

  • High school senior or college freshman
  • Studying for a degree in agribusiness, agriculture, animal health technology, or veterinary medicine with potential application to horses or the horse industry
  • Planning to attend school in Canada
  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Participation in community service, extracurricular activities, or leadership
  • Demonstrate financial need Preference is given to applicants with a rural background and/or extensive participation in the horse industry receive special consideration.
