South Carolina Farm Bureau Youth Ambassador Scholarship provides an opportunity for South Carolina residents who are interested in a career in agriculture to serve as a spokesperson for the state's farmers and earn a college scholarship.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of South Carolina between 17 and 21 years of age who reside in a Farm Bureau member home.
  • Applicants must be interested in serving as a Youth Ambassador for a year, during which time they represent the Farm Bureau at a minimum of 6 official state functions to promote the bureau, the farmers of South Carolina, and their products.
  • They must submit their application through their county farm bureau.
  • Each county may nominate 1 male and 1 female, who compete separately for the state title of Youth Ambassador.
  • Semifinalists are invited to an interview, during which judges question them on their knowledge of agriculture.
  • Selection is based on the essay (50 points), an interview (50 points), and responses to questions (100 points).
  • During their year of service, the Youth Ambassadors must give full priority to the South Carolina Farm Bureau, follow a code of conduct, not consume any alcoholic beverages or use illegal substances, and not get married.
