The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Graduate Scholarship is available to U.S. military veteran students attending George Mason University or Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Students who demonstrate leadership, financial need, and pride in their culture or heritage are welcome to apply. Special consideration is given to students with low to moderate incomes, single parents returning to school to improve their families lives, and students who are trying to recover from a past criminal record. There are additional requirements for Vietnamese students from Vietnam.

Requirements

U.S. military veteran

Minimum 3.0 GPA

Attending or planning to attend George Mason University or Virginia Polytechnic Institute

Seeking a graduate or professional degree

U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Demonstrate active service to the Vietnamese, and/or American communities

Aged 17 to 30

Show leadership and passion for human rights and democracy

Demonstrate financial need Preference is given to students with low to moderate incomes, single parents returning to school to improve their families lives, and students who are trying to recover from a past criminal record.
