The University Club Lamp of Learning Scholarship is available to high school juniors in San Diego County, California who are seeking a bachelor’s degree in the U.S. upon graduation from high school. Students who have been enrolled in AVID and taken Honors, AP, or IB courses are encouraged to apply.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA
  • Resident of San Diego County, California for at least 1 year
  • High school junior
  • Enrolled in Honors/Accelerated courses, with a minimum of 2 AP or IB courses or AP exams
  • Participate in community service, work, and/or responsibilities within the family
  • Demonstrate leadership through extracurricular activities and school or community activities
  • Participate in the AVID college readiness program for at least 2 years in high school, including junior year
  • Demonstrate financial need
