About the Scholarship

The V. J. "Puck" & Pearl O'Neal Scholarship is a local program for graduating seniors from a Carteret County high school or those who have earned a high school equivalency certificate. Recipients should be born in Carteret County and be full-time residents. Merit in academic standing, leadership skills, moral character, extracurricular activities, and service are considered. Special consideration is given to students planning to pursue a major in marine science or theology to enter seminary to be ordained as clergy.
