Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Undergraduate Scholarship offers financial support to residents of Virginia who are interested in working on an undergraduate degree in the arts at a school in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of Virginia who are enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at an accredited college, university, or school of the arts in any state.
  • Students attending schools in Virginia and paying instate tuition qualify as residents.
  • Applications are accepted for work or study in the following artistic fields: crafts, drawing, painting, film/video, mixed media, printmaking, photography, or sculpture.
  • Applicants may apply in only 1 of these categories.
  • Only noncommercial, non-instructional projects over which the applicant had control and primary creative responsibility will be considered.
  • Applications must be accompanied by work samples completed within the past 3 years, a resume, transcripts, and a 200word artistic statement about the work being submitted.
  • Awards are made to those applicants with the highest artistic merit.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required.
  • Some of the funds for this program come from a foundation that requires consideration of the financial need for making awards; candidates who demonstrate such need qualify for those funds.
