Founded in 1914, Dunwoody College of Technology is the only private, not-for-profit technical college in the Upper Midwest. Having provided hands-on, applied technical education to more than 250,000 men and women, Dunwoody is the college for experimenters and makers, a place where the curious and the confident learn by doing. Located in Minneapolis, Dunwoody offers a unique campus experience in dedicated labs, studios, and shops that treats students like future professionals from day one. With certificates, associate's, and bachelor's degrees in more than 40 majors - including engineering, robotics, design and other STEM-related fields - Dunwoody challenges students to come determined and graduate destined. At Dunwoody, students learn through hands-on projects and partnerships working both on their own and collaboratively across many different majors and fields. Classes are designed with industry input, so students learn things that matter. Theory becomes practice. Students learn from faculty who are experts in their fields. Instructors who know what employers are looking for. Dunwoody faculty draw from extensive workplace experience, exceptional professional networks, and strong industry connections. They are designers, builders, leaders, and innovators. And they bring their experience into the classroom - through relevant, real-world, project-based learning. At Dunwoody, students use state-of-the-industry tools and technologies in labs, shops, and studios designed to mirror what's found out in the workplace. In fact, much of the equipment found on campus was donated by industry partners. And students spending more time in those spaces than in a traditional classroom. As a result, students are perfectly prepared for a successful future in industry. Students can join more than 20 student clubs and professional organization chapters or take part in travel study and study abroad. There are opportunities to participate in national competitions, meet professionals in industry, and work on real, community-building projects.
