Founded in 1856, Newberry College prepares students in the Lutheran liberal arts tradition through our supportive academic community for lifelong intellectual and personal development, meaningful vocation, and engaged citizenship in the global society. A private, residential, co-educational college with a diverse student population, Newberry offers baccalaureate degrees in 37 majors, 33 minors, online degree-completion programs, and dual-degree partnerships. Newberry offers South Carolina's only baccalaureate program in respiratory therapy, along with brand-new innovative programs in esports management and nutrition. Newberry College recently added a Masters of Organizational Development and Leadership degree and offers specialized advising and instruction for students with dyslexia. The College also offers 21 NCAA Division II sports, cheerleading, dance, marching band, and a championship esports program. Newberry has reaffirmed its commitment to affordability by freezing tuition costs for incoming freshmen for the third consecutive year. The College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, and the National Association of Schools of Music.
