AFCEA DC STEM Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area who are interested in majoring in fields of STEM in college.

Requirements

This program is open to residents of the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Applicants may be either high school seniors or secondyear students at a community college, but they must have been accepted as full-time students at an accredited 4-year college or university in the United States.

They must be planning to major in chemistry, computer science, cyber security, electronics, engineering (aerospace, chemical, computer, electrical, or systems), mathematics, management information systems, or physics.

Applications are especially encouraged from students whose family includes current military members, veterans, and members of the Washington, D.C. chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).

Selection is based on academic achievement, school activities, letters of recommendation, and financial need.
