AHORA (Applied Hispanic Opportunity and Recognition Award) Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors of Hispanic heritage from Texas who plan to major in a field of STEM at a college in the state.

Requirements

This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools in Texas who are of Hispanic heritage and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

They must be planning to enroll full or parttime at an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university in the state and major in a field of STEM. Selection is based on academic achievement, community service, personal strengths, leadership, and financial need.

U.S. citizenship is not required; students may qualify under Texas Senate Bill 1528.
