The Alfred J. Speak Scholarship is offered to graduating high school seniors in New Jersey who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree to help enlighten citizens to the ultimate benefit of mankind. Participants in the Boys & Girls Club of Newark and/or those affiliated with the First Presbyterian Church on Broad Street in Newark receive special consideration.

Demonstrate academic performance, extracurricular activities, community involvement, work (paid or unpaid), and financial need. Preference is given to participants in the Boys & Girls Club of Newark and/or those affiliated with the First Presbyterian Church on Broad Street in Newark.
