Requirements

This program is for residents of North Dakota who are at least 15 years of age; preference is given to students younger than 25.

Applicants must be interested in studying journalism at a college or university or through a nonprofit organization in any state.

They must be able to display the ability to write well or the potential to do so.

Selection is based on those writing samples, a curriculum vitae with an emphasis on previous writing activities and community engagement, a letter of recommendation, and a statement of longterm career goals and how the scholarship will help in attaining those goals.
