Arthur C. Parker Scholarship provides financial assistance to Native American students and professionals interested in additional training in archaeological methods.

Requirements

This program is open to high school seniors, college undergraduates, graduate students, and personnel of tribal or other Native cultural preservation programs.

Applicants must be Native people from anywhere in the Americas, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and indigenous Pacific Islanders.

They must be interested in attending a training program in archaeological methods offered by an accredited college or university, including fieldwork, analytical techniques, and curation.

Individuals may apply themselves, or they may be nominated by a high school teacher, current professor, or cultural preservation program supervisor.

Along with the application, they must submit a 2page personal statement describing why they are interested in their proposed program and in archaeology, and the contributions they hope to make to the future of archaeology.
