California Alarm Association Youth Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in California who are the children of active-duty law enforcement and fire service personnel and are interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools in California who have been accepted at an accredited 4-year college or university in any state.

Applicants must have a father, mother, or legal guardian who is a fulltime active employee (not on disability) of the police or sheriff's department or a paid employee or volunteer of a fire department in California.

Selection is based on that essay (20%), grade average (20%), SAT or ACT scores (20%), community service (25%), and academic prizes, awards, hobbies, and school and outside extracurricular activities (15%).

First, regional winners are selected; from those, the state winner is selected.
