Caltrans District 6/Central Region Employee Family Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in designated California counties who are related to an employee of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and plan to attend college in any state to prepare for a career in transportation.

Requirements
  • This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools in Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, or Tulare counties in California who are related to a current, former, or retired Caltrans District 6 employee.
  • Applicants must be planning to enroll at a college, university, junior college, or trade school in any state to prepare for a career in a transportationrelated field (e.g., accounting, anthropology, archaeology, animal or plant biology, business administration, communications, construction, electrical, engineering, environmental science, equipment operations, graphic design, human resources, information technology, landscaping, legal, planning, project management, real estate, surveying).
  • They must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Selection is based on academic record and commitment to a career in transportation; financial need is not considered.
