Requirements

This program is open to graduating high school seniors in California who are planning to attend a college or university in the state to major in a field related to horticulture (e.g., agribusiness, viticulture, pomology).

Applicants must submit essays on their educational objectives and their occupational goals as they relate to the nursery industry or horticulture.

Selection is based on those essays, transcripts, leadership activities and awards in FFA/ROP/4H, high school supervised occupational experience or industry work experience, community activities related to horticulture, other activities and offices held in high school, and 2 letters of reference.

Financial need is not considered.
