Capital District 3 Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors and current college students whose parents are members of organizations affiliated with the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) in its District 3.

Requirements

This program is open to high school seniors and current full-time undergraduates who are residents of AHEPA District 3 (Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D.C., or West Virginia) and attending or planning to attend college in any state.

Applicants must be 1) the children (not nieces, nephews, grandchildren, or other relatives) of a member of the Order of AHEPA or the Daughters of Penelope; or 2) a member of the Order of AHEPA, the Daughters of Penelope, the Sons of Pericles, or the Maids of Athena.

They may apply for a financial need scholarship (must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher) or a scholastic merit scholarship (must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher).

For high school seniors and firstyear college students, the selection is based on the essay (40%), SAT/ACT score (10%), GPA (30%), part-time employment (10%), and honors and extracurricular activities (10%).

For upperdivision college students, the selection is based on the essay (45%), GPA (30%), honors and extracurricular activities (10%), and part-time employment (15%).
