Careers in Conservation Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of North Carolina interested in attending college in the state to prepare for a career in soil and water conservation.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of North Carolina who are either seniors graduating from high school or students currently enrolled full-time at a college or university in the state.
  • Applicants must have a declared major in fields related to natural resource management, including, but not limited to, agronomy, agricultural engineering, agriculture sustainability, agriculture education, animal science, forestry, natural resource conservation or management, plant science, soil science, water management, water quality, or wildlife management.
  • Priority is given to students who can demonstrate a clear commitment to achieving a bachelor's degree in a course of study consistent with skill sets needed for fulfilling the mission of soil and water conservation districts, associated state and federal agencies, and the applicable private sector.
  • Students who have completed at least 50% of their required college degree credit hours receive additional consideration.
