The Charles "Chuck" Makanui, Jr. Scholarship is offered to a graduating senior or a graduate of a high school who is pursuing a degree at a college or university in the field of art or music. Students who exhibit a commitment to the field of art or music are encouraged to apply. Residents of Hawaii island receive special consideration. It is also the policy of the Foundation to give preference to students of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.

Seeking an associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree in art or music

Participation in community service or extracurricular activities

Interested in art or music Preference is given to students who are residents of the island of Hawai and to those of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
