The Charlotte Pride Scholarship provides financial assistance to LGBTQIA+ residents of designated counties in the Charlotte area of North and South Carolina who are interested in attending college in those states.

Requirements
  • This program is open to LGBTQIA+ high school seniors and college students from the Charlotte area, including 12 counties in North Carolina (Alexander, Anson, Cabarrus, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, and Union) and 4 counties in South Carolina (Chester, Chesterfield, Lancaster, and York).
  • Applicants should be enrolled or accepted for enrollment at an accredited 2 or 4-year college or university in North Carolina or South Carolina, although students in any state are considered.
  • Preference is given to fulltime students and to part-time students who either are enrolled as juniors or seniors or who can demonstrate passion, willingness, and ability to complete their degree.
  • All applicants must be LGBTQIA+ or straight allies and have demonstrated service to the LGBTQIA+ community.
  • They must have a GPA of3.0 or higher and be able to demonstrate financial need.
  • In the selection process, consideration is given to GPA and SAT/ACT scores, but greater emphasis is placed on a passion for education and demonstrated service to the LGBT community or a desire to serve that community.
