The Clarence and Helen Carter Excellence in Nursing Scholarship is for undergraduate students studying nursing at The University of Southern Mississippi. Special consideration is given to students who graduated from Ocean Springs High School in Mississippi followed by Jackson County residents in Mississippi. If no student meets the criteria then graduates from Long Beach High School and residents of Harrison County in Mississippi are given consideration. Incoming freshmen and students with financial needs are also given additional consideration.
