COMTO Chicago Founding Fathers Leadership Legacy Scholarship provides financial assistance to minority undergraduates from Illinois who have been involved in community service and are preparing for a career in the transportation industry.

Requirements
  • This program is open to members of underrepresented or minority groups who are residents of Illinois or full-time students at a school in that state.
  • Must be a graduate student.
  • Must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • They must be preparing for a career in the transportation industry with a major in fields of STEM, engineering (i.e., civil, construction, electrical, environmental, mechanical), social sciences (i.e., economics, geography, planning, political science), or business administration (i.e., accounting, business management, communications, finance, human resources, information technology, public health).
  • In the selection process, emphasis is placed on demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to community service.
  • Must be United States citizen or legal alien or permanent resident with a registration card. Special consideration is given to applicants who have a family connection to the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO).
