The David E. Knox Memorial Nursing Fellowship program supports nursing students who have completed prerequisites for the nursing (BSN or RN) degree-seeking program. Students who are planning to commit to a 1-year service obligation to practice nursing in a small community in Alaska are welcome to apply. Special consideration is given to students with financial needs who are eligible for graduation within 2 years of the academic term for when the award will be used, and who wish to practice in operating rooms.

Minimum 3.0 GPA

Seeking a BSN or RN degree as a fulltime student

Completed prerequisites for nursing (BSN or RN) degreeseeking program

Commitment to a year service obligation to practice nursing in a small community in Alaska

Demonstrate motivation, academic, and/or leadership potential

Exhibit a high level of organization and attention to detail

Display compassion for patients and coworkers Preference is given to students with financial needs who are eligible for graduation within 2 years of the academic term for when the award will be used, and who wish to practice in operating rooms.
