The DEED Educational Scholarship provides financial assistance to students interested in preparing for a career at an electric utility.

Requirements

This program is open to high school seniors, high school graduates, and undergraduates currently enrolled full-time at accredited colleges and universities in the United States.

Applicants must be preparing for a career related to electric utilities, such as an electric lineworker or utility line technician, power plan technician, electrical power technician, or traditional or renewable power generation technician.

They must be sponsored by a publiclyowned utility participating in the Demonstration of Energy-Efficient Developments (DEED) program, which will also provide mentorship about the public utility industry to the student before applying.

Priority is given to students working on a degree or certificate in areas that are in short supply and high demand in the public power industry.

Selection is based on the goals and aspirations of the student in the electric utility industry, motivation to succeed, service to community and school, and academic ability.
