Detroit Section SAE Scholarship provides financial support to high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of members of the Detroit section of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and are interested in studying science or engineering in college.

Requirements
  • This program is open to children and grandchildren of Detroit section members who intend to earn an ABET-accredited degree in engineering or a degree in science at a 2- or 4-year college or university in any state.
  • Applicants must be high school seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Selection is based on financial need; high school transcripts; SAT or ACT scores; schoolrelated extracurricular activities; non-school related activities; academic honors, civic honors, and awards; and a 250-word essay on their goals, plans, experiences, and interests in mobility engineering.
