Driver Safety Scholarship recognizes and rewards, with scholarships, high school seniors and college freshmen in Alabama who submit outstanding essays on the dangers of distracted driving.

Requirements

This competition is open to residents of Alabama who are either graduating high school seniors or freshmen enrolled at a college or university in the state.

Applicants must submit essays, at least 1,000 words in length, on how we can educate our community about the dangers of distracted driving and some of the practical ways we can reduce accidents from such causes.

Selection is based on content, the correctness of facts, grammar, style, and originality.
