Duke Energy Hispanics in Engineering Scholarship provides financial assistance to Hispanic residents of North Carolina who are interested in majoring in specified fields of engineering at colleges in the state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of North Carolina who are of Hispanic background (both parents are at least half Hispanic or 1 parent is fully Hispanic) and either 1) are graduating high school seniors; or 2) graduated from high school within the past 2 years.
  • Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll at a university or community college in the state and study chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, or nuclear engineering.
  • They must have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Preference is given to foreignborn applicants and the native-born children of foreign-born parents.
  • Selection is based on academic achievement, community involvement, volunteerism, leadership, and family economic need.
