The Early Childhood Development Scholarship is available to students who are planning to pursue a career in early childhood education/development. Students who are enrolled part-time and are working at least 20 hours weekly in a participating early childhood facility are welcome to apply.

Requirements
  • Working at least 20 hours per week in a participating early childhood facility or be employed as a preschool associate teacher in a state‐funded pre‐school program
  • Resident of Kentucky
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree
  • Studying for a degree in early childhood education or a related program approved by the Early Childhood Development Authority
  • Attending a participating college or university as a parttime student
  • U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident
  • Not be eligible for state or federal training funds through Head Start, a public preschool program, or First Steps
  • Have no unpaid financial obligation to KHEAA or to any other Title IV program
  • Agree to a service commitment based on the credential pursued
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress
