Frances Bennett Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of Washington who are interested in studying a French-related subject and preparing for a service profession at a college in the state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of Washington who are either high school seniors or undergraduates at a college or university in the state.
  • Applicants must 1) demonstrate a passion for the French language and culture in the written application as well as in an interview during which selected applicants are asked to answer a few questions in French; 2) furnish evidence of a satisfactory preparation in French that indicates a lasting interested and successful academic studies in French language and culture; and 3) demonstrate a willingness to be an active member of the SeattleNantes Sister Cities Association after completing their studies.
  • They must be planning to enter a service profession such as teaching or medicine or have overcome many hardships in order to continue their studies.
  • Selection is based on transcripts, work experience and participation in and out of school, 2 teacher recommendations, and an essay on how the study of French language and culture relates to their objectives and future goals.
