About the Scholarship

The Frances Katsuda Bean Waianae High School Scholarship is for graduates of Waianae High School in Waianae, Hawaii. This scholarship was created in 2016 by Frances Naomi Bean who was born and raised in Waianae. Frances Bean remembers the significant role that drama and the arts played in her life. Special consideration is given to Wai’anae High School students who have participated in the school’s award-winning Searider Productions, drama program, or art program.
