Requirements

This program is open to full- and part-time students who are currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a program of mortuary science accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education.

Applicants must submit 1) an essay of 750 to 1,000 words on their choice of 4 topics that involve their reasons for entering the funeral service profession; 2) a 5minute video on the skills they possess that will help them in their career in funeral service; 3) another 5-minute video on the biggest challenge (or anticipated biggest challenge) that they face when communicating with families during the arrangement conference, and 4) a third 5-minute video on either the greatest challenge as they enter their career in funeral service or their community involvement and the role it plays in funeral service.

Selection is based primarily on the essay, the 3 videos, and academic achievement; financial need is not considered.
