GCSC Presidential Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of South Carolina interested in studying a horticulture-related field at a college in any state and able to demonstrate academic excellence.

Requirements

This program is open to residents of South Carolina who are high school seniors, undergraduates, or master's degree students.

Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll fulltime at a college, university, or technical school in any state and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

They must be interested in working on a degree in agriculture, agronomy, botany, city planning, floriculture, historic preservation, horticulture, land management, landscape design, plant pathology, or related fields.

Selection is based on that essay (25%), academic record (40%), a list of honors, extracurricular activities, and work experience (13%), financial need (15%), recommendations (5%), and conformance with application instructions (2%).

The award is presented to a student who demonstrates academic excellence, maturity, focus, and a passion for obtaining their longterm goal of scholarly achievement.

U.S. citizenship is required.
