The scholarship was established in memory of Geoffrey Au, a former first chair viola player with the Hawai’i Youth Symphony, and beloved science teacher at Farrington High School.

Attending a notfor-profit institution within the US (including US territories) as a full-time student Preference is given to applicants in the following order: students who have participated in the Hawai’i Youth Symphony as a performer and/or volunteer, students engaged in any academic cancer research, and previous recipients.
