The Georgia Legion Auxiliary Past Department President Scholarship provides financial assistance to descendants of veterans in Georgia who are interested in attending college in any state to major in any field.

Requirements

This program is open to Georgia residents who are the descendants of veterans who served during wartime, including but not limited to; World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Lebanon/Grenada, the Invasion of Panama, the Gulf War, and the War on Terror.

Applicants must be sponsored by a local unit of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Selection is based on a statement explaining why they want to further their education and why they need a scholarship, a transcript of all high school or college grades, a 500word essay on a topic of their choice, and 4 letters of recommendation (1 from a high school principal or superintendent, 1 from the sponsoring American Legion Auxiliary local unit, and 2 from other responsible people).
