Gioles Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors and current undergraduates who are of the Greek Orthodox faith and are interested in studying journalism or other fields.

Requirements

This program is open to high school seniors and current undergraduates who are enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at an accredited college or university in the United States.

Applicants must be of the Greek Orthodox faith, preferably of Greek descent, and U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and an SAT score of at least 1000 (or an equivalent score on the ACT).

Preference is given to applicants who are orphans; at least 1 scholarship is reserved for a student majoring in journalism).

Selection is based on an essay on an assigned topic related to their background as a Greek Orthodox, transcripts, letters of recommendation, honors and awards, special skills, extracurricular participation (especially in church activities), and financial need.
