GSH/Hugh Hardy Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students from any state who are interested in studying applied geophysics or a related field at a college in Texas.

Requirements

This program is open to 1) high school students planning to enter college in the fall, and 2) undergraduate or graduate students whose grades are above average.

First preference is given to students at schools in the Houston area of Texas; if no qualified students from that area apply, students at other colleges and universities in Texas are considered; if no qualified students from Texas apply, any U.S. citizen attending a college or university in the United States is eligible.

Applicants must intend to work on a degree directed toward a career in applied geophysics or a closelyrelated field (e.g., earth or environmental sciences, geology, geoscience, or physics).

Financial need is not considered in the selection process.
