H. Ray Taber AEG Founders Scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate students at designated universities in northern California who are working on a degree in a field related to engineering geology.

Requirements

This program is open to students at designated 4-year universities in northern California who are entering their junior or senior year for the undergraduate award or their first or second year of graduate school for the graduate award.

Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Undergraduates must have a declared major in geology or a related earth science discipline.

Graduate students must be working on a master's degree with an environmental or engineering geology emphasis, such as hydrogeology, environmental geology, engineering geology, or a related earth science discipline.

Selection is based on academic performance (20%), letters of recommendation (25%), extracurricular activities (20%), and a 2page essay on their educational and professional goals in the geosciences (35%).
