Hampton Roads Chapter AFCEA Undergraduate Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia who is working on or planning to work on a degree in selected fields of STEM at a school in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to residents of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia (including the cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach), active-duty military personnel assigned to commands within Hampton Roads, dependents of that active-duty military personnel, and dependents of members of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).

Applicants may be graduating high school seniors or undergraduate students.

They must be enrolled or planning to enroll fulltime at an accredited 4-year college or university in any state to prepare for a career that supports the focus of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) on military communications, electronics, information technology, or intelligence systems.

Eligible majors include, but are not limited to, computer science, electronics, engineering (aerospace, chemical, computer, electrical, or systems), management information systems, mathematics, physics, science or mathematics education, or technology management.

Selection is based on the essay, academic achievement, extracurricular activities and awards, work experience, and financial need.

U.S. citizenship is required.
