Harold Taft Scholarship provides financial assistance to upper-division and graduate students who are working on a degree in a field related to weather at a college in Texas.

Requirements

This program is open to residents of Texas currently enrolled at an institution of higher learning in the state as a junior or higher.

Applicants must have at least 2 semesters remaining or be enrolled as a graduate student.

They must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and be working on a degree in meteorology or atmospheric science as preparation for a career as a weather broadcaster.

They may, but are not required to, include links to onair or digital weather forecasts or stories from college or internship programs.

Special consideration is given to members of groups underrepresented in meteorology, defined as Black (African American), Hispanic, Asian or Pacific Islander, American Indian, Aleutian (Alaskan) Native, or Native Hawaiian.
