The Hawaii Independent Energy Scholarship is awarded to full-time students who intend to start a career in a trade industry that will support the process technology industry in Hawai'i. Students enrolled in a 2-year or less vocational or technical education program in Hawaii are encouraged to apply. It is the policy of the Foundation to give preference to students of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2.00 GPA
  • Resident of the U.S.
  • Graduate of a public high school
  • Seeking a professional certification or associate degree fulltime at a vocational or technical program in Hawaii
  • Preparing for a career in a trade industry that supports the process technology industry (electrician, welder, machinist, pipeline inspector)
  • Participation in community service or extracurricular activities Preference is given to students of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
