H.C. Shipman Scholarship

About the Scholarship

H.C. Shipman Scholarship program supports students from Keaau public high schools in Hawaii. Herbert C. Shipman headed the W.H. Shipman Ltd. Company from 1943 until 1976. Mr. Shipman was also a conservationist, working to save the nene from extinction. He was amongst the first to raise orchids on Hawaii Island and has a park named after him in Keaau. This scholarship fund was established by the H.C. Shipman Foundation in his memory.
