Henry Bates Peacock Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students who are interested in preparing for a career in petroleum geophysics or associated sciences, especially at designated universities.

Requirements

This program is open to 1) high school students planning to enter college in the fall, and 2) undergraduate or graduate students whose grades are above average.

Applicants must be working on or planning to work on a degree directed toward a career in petroleum geophysics or a closelyrelated field (e.g., earth or environmental sciences, geology, geoscience, or physics).

First preference is given to students at the University of Iowa.

If no students from that university qualify, second preference is given to students at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

If no students from either university quality, the scholarship may be awarded to a student at any university.

Financial need is not considered in the selection process.
