The Higher Education Program of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe provides financial assistance to members of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe who are interested in attending college.

Requirements

This scholarship is only available to Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Members and is a rolling application for each academic term.

Applicants must be high school graduates or GED recipients and enrolled or planning to enroll at a college, university, or vocational/technical school in any state.

They must be able to demonstrate financial need and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.

Funding amounts are decreased for parttime students and are limited to 15 credit hours as a part-time student.

The Higher Education Scholarship is a supplemental grant; therefore, the student must also apply for federal student aid (FAFSA/PELL). Students must complete a higher education grant application with their tribal education office with the tribe they are enrolled in if the program is available.

First priority is given to college seniors, then juniors, then sophomores, and then freshmen.
