The Higher Education Program of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe provides financial assistance to members of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe who are interested in attending college.

Requirements
  • This scholarship is only available to Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Members and is a rolling application for each academic term.
  • Applicants must be high school graduates or GED recipients and enrolled or planning to enroll at a college, university, or vocational/technical school in any state.
  • They must be able to demonstrate financial need and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
  • Funding amounts are decreased for parttime students and are limited to 15 credit hours as a part-time student.
  • The Higher Education Scholarship is a supplemental grant; therefore, the student must also apply for federal student aid (FAFSA/PELL). Students must complete a higher education grant application with their tribal education office with the tribe they are enrolled in if the program is available.
  • First priority is given to college seniors, then juniors, then sophomores, and then freshmen.
