The Ho'oulu Scholarship is for students whose studies at college were interrupted for any reason, but who are now ready to complete their college education. The Steele siblings established this scholarship in 2014 after recognizing that the path through college is not always linear. Their intent is to support Pacific Islander students, including Hawaiians.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Resident of Hawaii or of a Pacific Island nation
  • Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree in Hawaii
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Aged 20 or older
  • Former college student who has completed at least one year of college, then “stopped out” for at least one year, and is now returning to actively pursue a college degree Preference is given first to students from Samoa or of Samoan ethnicity and next to students from another Pacific Island nation or ethnicity, including Hawaiian.
