Requirements

This program is open to residents of Imperial County, California who are 1) high school seniors planning to enroll full time at a college or university in any state and work on a degree in a field related to animals (e.g., animal health technology, animal husbandry, biology, entomology, veterinary medicine, zoology); 2) undergraduates enrolled in an animal health technician program at a school in any state; or 3) students enrolled in a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program in any state.

Applicants must submit 1) an essay on why dogs are important to humans; and 2) an autobiography that includes their personal and educational background.

Selection is based on those essays and letters of recommendation.

For high school seniors, GPA and extracurricular activities are also considered.
