Indiana 4-H Accomplishment Scholarship provides financial assistance for college to members of 4-H in Indiana who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in 4-H activities.

Requirements
  • This program is open to members of 4-H in Indiana who are in grades 10 through the year following the final year of 4-H eligibility.
  • Applicants must demonstrate outstanding accomplishment in up to 3 categories of 4H work from among the following: 1) animal science; 2) citizenship; 3) communications; 4) engineering and technological science; 5) healthy living, food, and nutrition science; 6) leadership development; and 7) plant and environmental science.
  • They must submit a 1page cover letter and a 1- to 2-page resume describing at least 3 life skills that 4-H helped them strengthen and the 4-H experience that helped them strengthen those skills.
  • The 4H experiences must relate to the category in which they are applying.
  • Applicants who demonstrate outstanding life skills development in more than 1 of those 7 categories may also apply for 3 additional categories: 1) premier leadership (demonstration of life skills developing leadership in multiple categories); 2) premier citizenship (demonstration of life skills developing citizenship in multiple categories), or 3) premier achievement (demonstration of life skills developing overall 4H achievement in multiple categories).
  • Based on their letter and resume, finalists are invited to an interview.
  • Winners are selected on the basis of the opening speech they make at the interview and their ability to answer questions and defend points made in the speech.
  • Financial need and academic achievement are not considered.
