The Iowa Space Grant Undergraduate STEM Research Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to undergraduate students who are interested in working on a research project in space-related STEM disciplines at member institutions of the Iowa Space Grant Consortium (ISGC). Students from underrepresented groups (women, minorities, U.S. military veterans, and persons with disabilities) are especially encouraged to apply.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Enrolled at an ISGC member institution (Des Moines Area Community College, Drake University, Iowa State University, Loras College, University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa) as a fulltime student.
  • Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline of interest to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), including STEM education.
  • Currently working on a facultymentored research project that has NASA STEM relevance.
  • U.S. citizen. Preference is given to students from underrepresented groups (women, minorities, U.S. military veterans, and persons with disabilities).
